AFS wheels
#18
They will work. I use AFS 17x11 38mm offset. My street wheels are 17x9.5 48mm offset which means those are a little less than 1/2" more outboard offset than my Borbet wheels. It won't be enough to really notice. The only thing you MIGHT have to do on the rear (even my Borbet's are this way) is to grind the wheels where it mates to the hub. If you'll notice (with the rear wheels off) there is a raised circle on the mounting surface of the hub. It is just VERY slightly large than the hole on the wheels. Not much. 2 or 3 minutes with a hand grinder on the wheel (you'll NEVER grind the hub....) will enlarge the hole just enough to slip right on.
You'll notice the WARNING for the 17x11's say the same thing "they don't fit Camaro's". I use 36mm offset in the front and 50mm offset in the rear with 1/4" spacers.

You don't need spacers, they will already will be outboard offset more than needed. You won't have to worry about the inside rubbing anything. They shouldn't stick out either. My Borbet's wouldn't stick out with a 1/2" spacer. I keep my 1/4" rear spacer on my car even when I don't have my 11"'s on. Another 1/4" would actually bring them out where they really ought to be.

I'll try to get a picture of my 9.5" Borbet's with the 1/4" spacer. That would equal 42.35mm offset. So you figure .17" more outboard offset than that with a 38mm wheel. What you'll see with my rear wheels is what you'll have basically. It's a little dark here in Atlanta right now but I'll get a picture in the morning and post it here.

If you look at the AFS website, they explain the difference in the offsets. From their site:
The Trans Am and Firebird are in a unique situation of being able to choose from two different offsets or offset combinations because the rear fenders sit out a bit wider than on the Camaro. Depending upon the look you are trying to get, you can choose either the +56/50mm or the +38/36.5mm. The +56/50mm wheels will sit in slightly further than the +38/36.5mm offset.

I just looked at the bid. I see the rear's are 11" 36mm offset. There is a guy here (94bird) the runs those on his F-Body. I use the 11" 50mm offset on my Camaro with that 1/4" spacer. To me, 36mm is just a little too much outboard offset, I think they stick out a little too far for the street. I run the 36mm's on the front and they stick out.

i dont really have much of a problem with the back wheels sticking out just a tad. Will the fronts do the same. I am thinking that they will not as they have more of a backspace. Thanks for all your help guys
