air conditioning?

hey guys. decided to pull my air conditioning. its annoying, has never worked since i got the car and, well thats what t tops are for. my question is do i have to buy an a/c delete pully to install and take out the useless ac pully, or can i just remove all hoses etc.. and leave the OM in?

If you delete the compressor, you need an A/C delete pulley to take up the slack in the serpentine belt. If you remove everything but the compressor, you don't have to do anything. But you'll have a big chunk useless, of dead weight sitting over your front wheels.

What's the "OM"?

X2 on what Fred said. I will add thought that if you decide to get an A/C delete pulley try to find a GM one because the belt length "should" be the same. I have seen some posts where people have had to get different length belts with the GM 1LE pulley too. I used the same belt with the pulley that I have (GM).

GM used two different A/C clutch pulley diameters on the LT1. Whether you will need a belt depends which diameter pulley the engine had.
