air foil blocking IAC?!?! HELP!!!
Ok, well I think I have narrowed down the low idle/stalling problem I have been having with my car. I thought it was from me installing the wrong year module in my car ( which I have since taken out ), but I also installed an air foil at the same time I started having problems. Do you guys think my air foil could be blocking the IAC?!?! What is happening is when I start the car it idles ROUGH at around 600rpm (barely running) and it sometimes stalls, or has a small backfire if I try to rev it past 2500 to get it warmed. Then when I start to drive if I drive over 20 seconds I am fine til I restart it, but if I let off the pedal before 20 seconds it stalls or I have to rev it to keep it running and I feel a "surge" in the motor with around a 1500rpm constant pedal pressure, but then it goes away after I ride in it for atleast 20 seconds. Runs GREAT afterwords. I also hear a louder SUCKING sound when I am IN the car driving. Could have I put the foil in backwards or put it in too low in the tb groove so its blocking the IAC?! I was wondering what the little "nitch" on the bottom of the foil was for but now I am guessing its for air flow and the IAC?!?! Should I try and make the "nitch" bigger so the IAC can get more air?! Could this have done any damage to the motor by stalling, running rich, ect?! Hmmm, I guess I will listen to your responses and open her back up tomorrow to look. This little peice of plastic seems like a bigger pain in the butt than its worth, lol---Thanks---

Re: air foil blocking IAC?!?! HELP!!!
that hole at the bottom is for the iac to get air. if you here whistling coming from it, then it is letting air pass. i'd start at the basics. vacuum gauge tests, faulty/loose wiring, things of that nature.

Re: air foil blocking IAC?!?! HELP!!!
I had the exact same problem when I installed my Holley airfoil. The car would idle rough and stall at stop lights. Pulled the airfoil out and it ran fine. So I used a die grinder to open up the groove for the air to get to the IAC and the problem went away.
