They hook to an O2 at the least.

Re: Air fuel gauge hook up

Sounds like you bought just a "gauge" not a wideband kit?

If so you wasted money.
The pcm constantly varies AFR to keep the O2s bouncing back and forth across 450mv which is 14.7:1 AFR and the ONLY point at which a narrowband is accurate.

Don't just take my word for it though search here and you will find every time this comes up the same answer is given.

The constant varying of AFR by the pcm will cause a wild lightshow on a bar type display.

Re: Air fuel gauge hook up

The O2 signal wires are purple (pin C8) on the passenger side, and purple/white (pin C20) on the driver's side. Hooking up to one, you'll only have poor/limited info on only one bank of the engine. Hook it up to both, via a single pole, double throw switch, and you'll be able to select which bank of the engine gives you the psychedelic light show.

Really not worth it.

I have mine hooked up to the wideband sensor in the headers and the gauge in where the center eyeballs were

^ this is why I have been a fan of the Pontiac interior...I'm a big fan of the gauges in the dash- they look as factory as you can get IMO..not the typical 'pod warts' that us Camaro guys have to do..myself included.

Re: Air fuel gauge hook up

You really can't have "too much" info....... center vents + pod warts...
