!AIR...yes, another topic...

I've done a few searches on removing the AIR pump. Now, I noticed that it is benefical if you have cats, which I do not. I don't have emissions so that isn't a problem around here.

So first question...

Are there any dis-advantages to deleting the AIR when you don't have cats?

Also, when I cut my cats out, I put in o2 sims. I still got a code about a recirculation problem. Second question...Is this b/c my AIR is trying to work but I have no cats? I also have SLP headers, and I have heard people say that they can get this code when headers are installed. So I don't know.

trey, I've heard that removing your air pump and egr will set off your computer because you have the obd2. So I don't know if you should do it or not, it may not cause any problems but annoying ses light on which you already have. I removed mine and there was no prob. but I have obd1, i saw little or no gains but who knows, never threw it on the dyno.

I know I will get a code for it, but I can get it programmed out. I don't plan to remove the EGR system. Shoebox has a great write up on his website about the EGR. Serves a pretty good purpose, so I don't plan on taking it out.

A "recirculation" code is probably an EGR one. Has nothing to do with the AIR. Might be a backpressure issue (especially with no cats).

I don't see a problem with no AIR in your situation. Without cats, it really has little purpose.

Hmmm...it is possible to have the "Re-circulation" code programmed out, correct? I have slp shorties,no cats, x pipe, and true dual bullets...so not much backpressure at all.

The EGR code can be programmed out. So can the AIR.
