airfoil that goes on the TB worth 6rwhp???

The sept 02 GM high tech mag shows 5.8rwhp from this lil mod...

its the aerodynamic thing that goes on the front part of your TB to make the air flow in better... I dont see how it brings 5.8rwhp, but thats what the mag says...

here is a write up for desc from SLP

SLP's throttle body flow booster improves air flow at the entrance of your throttle body by 30 CFM. This airfoil shaped piece smoothes and directs airflow into the throttle body and makes up to 7 additional horsepower. The flow booster is manufactured from aircraft-quality, cast aluminum and includes all installation hardware and instructions for easy bolt-on installation.

Its a highly debated mod. Most people say you will get 1-2rwhp if that. I never got one because i just don't really think it can work that well. But if Gm high tech. got 5.8 out of it then maybe i'll start looking again.

Similer numbers there.

I have one and feel that for the price (got it used for $20), it sure as hell can't hurt.

A lot of the reason they may have picked up almost 6 horses with it is because SLP is a paying advertiser for that magazine. Do you see how that works? Sure it is a tad bit shady, but if they didn't do thing like that then we would have to pay like 10 bucks a copy. Just something to think about.

Someone with some dyno results should get on here. I know one thing for sure. Whatever gains it does get there sure is no way your gonna feel it.

Thats great and all but for large cam motors and strokers it blocks the IAC even more causing the car not to idle well.

The only time I would get an airfoil is after I got all my bolt on mods done and then I would look into it. Do they make a air foil for a 52mm TB?

At least there's somebody else that's not a sucka... come on now, airfoil??? My friend had one and took it out just becauase it was a waste on his 95 z28. Wanna ask him??? His name is mike95z28. That is not even a mod, that's a waste. 6 rwhp, lol, maybe on a 900 horsepower engine... Most aftermarket TB's have an airfoil already molded in but otherwise don't waste your money. For 30 dollars I would rather get a cheap bottle of cologne.

But if you buy one of Nomads 52 MM TB's, then you could use the airfoil. HPP tested the Holley airfoil a couple of years ago and picked up about six at the wheels. In the big picture, every little bit helps. I picked up mine for $20 on ebay.

My BBK/Edlebrock 52mm TB didn't have one.

It should have been integral to the unit. My BBK 58mm is.

And he didn't get paid by anybody. Nuff said

I certainly wouldn't pay $50-$60 for one, but I you can find one for around 15-20, I buy em.
