I made my own out of an SLP foil for a 48mm TB. Dremel does wonders.
Here's a picture of it. Next to the TB is a Jet airfoil which in my opinion, sucks big time.

That was on my '95 Z. I might get one from Nomad for my '93/'94 cammed hybrid.

Man no way that little thing gives 6 rwhp. I'd say 1-2 at the most, like the www.ws6.com guy. It's not a big mod at all. But every 1 rwhp helps right?

1rwhp for 25-60 bucks = not worth it...

Exactly, it's a waste... I don't even see how it can be supported. Even for 15 or 20 bucks go buy yourself a supreme pizza and a 2 liter of coke and some buffalo wings and it will make you happier.

Well some people pay $400 for a new 52 mm throttle body...those give you about......oh 5 rwhp at most (on a stock or lightly modded car). So that's a lot more $/hp than a $30 air foil. Throttle body technically is the worst bang for the buck power wise , in my opinion. Except for shorty coated headers, both those are pretty close to the same cost per horsepower, with the new TB beating it out by about 10-20 dollars per horsepower!

You should have riden in my car before my SLP Jet Hot Coated 1 3/4" shorties and after them. World of difference. I know for a fact it didn't give me a measley 5 rwhp. I can feel a lot more than that. All my friends even agree it was a great mod that really picked up my car.

I just got one myself. Right now I'd rather spend $50 for an airfoil than $400 for a tb. IMO throttle bodies are way overpriced. I'd like to eventually get one but it will probably be one of the last mods I buy. Anyways the stock tb is good up to 400+ hp. Just my 2 cents.

I didn't say they only give 5 rwhp, I said the cost per hp is pretty high. Shorty coated headers and y are what.....$600? And they'll give you maybe 12-15 rwhp...so at 15 rwhp that's still $40 per hp.

So in that sense, $30 for an airfoil that gives 1 rwhp isn't that bad of a deal after all.

And yeah just get a stock ported 52mm TB. That's fine unless you need something for a HUGE amount of hp. Thunderracing sells em for $225. Not too bad, that's what I have on my car.

The boys on Horsepower TV did a bolt-on episode featuring a 96 Impalla SS. Everything they bolted on was measured on their dyno for a performance gain. The air-foil netted them a 0 gain, the 52mm throttle body: 2 rwhp.

Yeah I'd believe it, 52mm doesn't do much unless you have a need for more air. I.E. cammed, or H/C cars.

Yes, the Jet one = junk ! I hate that one with a passion just because how bulky it is.
If you want a good one, get the hypertech. I've found they fit better overall than any other.
Just lemme know Ion, i'll set ya up

Cammed car ? You just gotta know how to reshape the IAC pasages for it to work

HorsepowerTV ? Whomevers they tested must not have ponied up the bucks. Any program that reccomends the hypertech is money oriented. I find it's more like GM High Tech Performance in TV form.

If anyone local wants to take a before and after ride, or even do a before and after ride in their own car with my 52mm with airfoil, i'd be happy to let ya borrow it simpley for the fact people make decisions without ever actually experienceing it first hand.
