Alarm keeps going off!!!
Okay here's the deal. I turn my alarm on and I get the two normal horns beeps. About 5 seconds later the alarm goes off louder with two honks. No matter what I do...I can't get it to stop. I tried just locking the doors and then closing them without activating from the remote and it did the same thing. The only thing I've done that may have caused this was the skip shift eliminator w/out disconnecting the battery. How can I get this fixed? I didn't see a fuse labeled for the alarm...should I take off the negative cable on the battery and leave it off a minute or so and hook it back up? Thanks for the help

Okay guys I seriously need some help on this one. I disconnected my negative terminal on the battery for about 5 minutes and hooked it back up....same thing.
The alarm sets and does it's noral two honks. Then five seconds later it blows the loud honks like someone has activated it. Then it stops for about 5 minutes and does the full two loud honds over and over in like 5-10 second intervals. During the entire process the alarm does not work. Meaning I can whack the hell out of the car and the alarm will not activate.
Please, please, please someone help me out with the one. The car was at the shop all week having the rear-end re-shimmed a couple times and that's it. Ever since I got it back, it's been doing this.

ok I will seriously help you out here OMG,
what you nned to do is open the access panel to the spare tire, find the alarm sensor, it is a little black box stuck to the fender well. <- unplug that sensor and try your alarm. if you alarm is not going off after 5 seconds you found your problem. now open that sensor up (by removing the zip tie and prying it open) and see if there is any water in it. well if there is water in it figure out why in the hell water is coming in your car and seal it up and then replace that sensor.
have you ever had body work on that part of your car?

I've never had any body work done around that area. I've messed with that sensor before to change the sensitivity. I'll go unplug it and see what happens. I don't see how it could have gotten wet. OH and seriously....thanks for your help

Okay I just disconnect the sensor and the problem disappeared. Does this mean I need to replace the sensor, or by removing the sensor did I disable to problem from somewhere else? Looks like the sensor is $30 from the dealer and $17 on GM Parts Direct. I'm sure it would be about the same from Jason Cromer.
So basically what I need to know is if this is definately the sensor that died on me. Thanks for all the help on this one white97T/A
Oh and I didn't notice any water damage on it...but yes when it rains and I open the hatch...I do get water inside the trunk. It never seems like enough to damage anything, but I guess it's possible.

More info
Okay I have found some more info on this problem and yes I have had body work done to my car. Maybe the hammering caused the unit to become damaged?
The other string for the rest of you who are interested is at:
Link to other thread...
So it was wet but also had body work I think Im gonna crack it open and take a peek. I know electronics so I will see what I can dig up. Just as long as it dosent void my "second buyers" warrenty but if the peice is only like $30 or so then its okay.
