Alternater Problems...

Okay well my alternater isnt giving out enough juice to keep up. How much and where could i get a good alternater for my lt1? i would prefer chrome or pollished aluminum, if anyone knows a website or something that would be great. thanx for the help.

mine is doing the same thing only putting out 12.7-13.0 when running... found one at orielly's for 63.00 and no core charge and one year warranty... just incase you want to save some money... it is a ac delco..

hey thanx man, i might do that, mine was only putting out around 12.5 when they checked it at orielly

63 bucks and no core charge! I just paid 200 for mine through a local parts store.

Nope 63.00 for the remanufactured delco... 1yr. warranty.. called them they have to order here in kc. only takes 1/2 a day... but yeah 63.00 with no core charge... and at advance auto.. 93.00 plus 50.00 core charge..

It depends on what you buy. Maybe he spent $63 on a remanufactured stock power output alternator. Then the other could of spent $200 on a brand new higher output alternator. But if you both got the pretty much the same alternator for that price, someone got screwed.

yeah i would say someone got screwed! i wouldnt mind buying a higher output one, but if it is the difference of 63 to 200 i will get the cheaper one.... i guess the only way for me to find out is to go to orielly and look it up!

The one I got is a reman. unit, but it has a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. I probably should have called around a little bit before buying though.
