alternator relocation/ ac delete
i'm taking out my entire a/c unit and heater core...i want to relocate the alternator to where the a/c currently is...i have a few questions...:
evidently i'm not going to need a 1le a/c delete pulley, right? (b/c that's where i want to relocated the alternator)
i've seen alternator relocation brackets from madman for around 140 and other companies for around $120...but those are for cars that don't run a/c AND power steering...
can i use one of those brackets if i want to keep my powersteering?
also does anybody know what size serpentine belt to use, if i want to keep powersteering, and relocated alternator, but NO a/c?
does anybody have any pics of what the engine bay looks like with the alternator relocated? any close ups as to how exatcly the alternator was mounted...
btw...has anybody custom fabricated one of their own brackets...125-150, is a lot for a single bracket and belt, including 2 or 3 bolts...

Relocating the alternator to A/C compressor location raises issues with power steering unit (clearance) unless you want to keep a pulley where the alternator was.
Relocating alternator to driver side with a custom bracket and replacing the power steering pulley (grooved pulley) sounds like a better and cleaner alternative. Someone here made a custom bracket for driver side install. But you still need to address the issue of PS pulley and how to run the belt without interfering with water pump.
Or, installing the alternator on where the A/C compressor was and relocating the power steering pump to the driver side with few inches offset and running a separate belt (with an additional pulley in front of the balancer) would be better.
Anyone else?

steve10 was developing a alternator relocation kit to where the AC compressor resides, while retaining the PS pump and lines in their stock position; will also remove the large factory bracket as well.
Sadly, he has become backed up and hasn't finished the product yet. I'm supposed to test the protype whenever it is finished.
