Am I just stupid?

I'm haveing a very hard time finding the fuel filter in my 95z i've looked for it everywhere. I took the fuel pump out in search of it, the pump seems to be aftermarket. Maybe I just have no idea what i'm doing.

Walk up to your car while it's jacked up on the drivers side. Approximatley where the drivers door handle is along the side of the car, look under the car. You willl see the filter clipped on against the floor of the car towards the outside of the body

There's no gold/silver colored cannister about the width of a coke bottle under the car along the edges infront of the rear tire?
