Re: Announcing the 2011 LTX Shootout!

It's only 100lb penalty in Extreme N/A, the rule was changed within the last month.

I knew this day was coming with all of the people jumping ship. Kind of frustrating when you're building a car for a class and the rules change mid-stride giving people an extra 1000rpm advantage. Now the only Optispark required class is street stock and that is bolt-on only.

We are still open for discussion on this topic. We are trying to help car count. For those with the LS1 pcms conversions who counld not run in extreme street. Now they can with a penalty.

Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Please post your concerns on LTXTech.com in the shootout section.

Coil on plug conversions were already permitted in the ES classes in previous years which basically makes the opti a trigger. The only difference now is that the LS1 PCM can be used which can provide a little more RPM range.

We are doing all we can to bring more cars to the event. More and more lightly modded street cars are making this conversion just for the increase in tune-abilty, not so they can spin 8K. If you feel it's unfair, then let's discuss what can level it out. I don't think prohibiting this conversion is the answer. In my opinion, we would be wrong to ignore the trend for this conversion.
