annoying whistle??

annoying whistle??
Just today my car developed an whistle. It sounds like its coming from underneath near the distributer. I cant tell where exactly, but its really loud and annoying. My car is running fine. I think it might be the belt but im not certain. Any ideas??

Sorry, i couldn't resist.
Did you pop the hood and listen for where it is coming from? Is it a screaching like an alt bearing or WP bearing going bad? You might want to keep an eye on those related gages. Our minivan serp belt used to howl, real annoying, bu6t only a cosmetic problem. They sell belt dressings which is just some sticky spray to kill the noise, but thats a bandaid fix and might not be the best option.
