I got a part number for valve covers from Don @ fuel injections specialitys Wysco Part # wa6034 so with that no problem with clearance.

I don't know how it will perform, the only xfi cam setup I've seen results from is a thirdgen from this board. 350 hp or so to the wheels with a 3000-3500 stall with the xfi 268. I'd say thats pretty good for 218/224 duration. The xfi cams have steep ramps so the rest of the valvetrain has to be able to handle it to get the most out of it.

What setups have you seen or heard about that were disappointing?

I'm going to rev mine a little past peak power at the strip, which I'm guessing might be around 6200-6300 rpm. I trust my bottom end and valvetrain to just under 7000 rpms.

i dd my 383 w/ and le1 350ci cam, passes smog so easily, and has gobs of torque, but im looking to upgrade to a bigger cam, and i highly suggest you do the same to get the full potential of your motor.

Even though the xfi cam I recommended has .576 lift and the heads don't flow anymore air from .550 to .600 lift, the added lift means the valve is coming off the seat faster, so the cylinder starts filling earlier, that combined with good mid lift flow numbers could mean more midrange torque.
