i'm going to go for the cc306. i've had the cc305 in the car for over two years now and i've pretty much maxed out what i can get out of that cam with the way the car sits now. what the heck do i have to lose. worst case scenario is i just have to spend more money on the car. thats nothing more than i do now. i've looked at lots of other cams but the cc306 is the only one that i've really seen numbers to back it up. there are lots of dyno numbers from other cams but none of them that i have seen have decent track times. someone bust me if they have numbers to back it up. cc306 guys post your numbers also if you have them.

The 224/230 is fun, I had a great time with this cam. I've already pulled the heads though, them and the intake are going to Lloyd Elliot for the LE2 package (going with the LE2 cam).

You do not need a 3000 stall with all of his cams, you can get away with smaller. It just wouldn't be an 'optimum' set up for drag racing.

I remember seeing someone hit 11.9x with the hotcam on this board a long time ago.. I don't think switching to a larger cam with stock heads is necesarily going to get you what you're looking for. A lot of what gets better times at the track is set up from what I've seen (I've never been to the track). The 305 should be able to get you better times than you're getting now with a higher more efficientstall, the right suspension, etc. That's where I'd be looking if you have stock heads, your cam is fine if you're not getting your heads done.

Just my 2 cents..

While i dont have an automatic i thought i would toss my hat into the ring. I have been driving around on the 230 236 for awhile now and i must say it has pretty good street manners I get a very minor cam surge at like 25mph but other than that smooth sailing.

Although i will agree that i would run a bigger cam like 306 230/236 or the 847 without gears. The gears will supplement what you will lose on the bottom end. for instance with my 4.10's it puts me right into the powerband with my cam almost instantly no bogging down. I drove it for five minutes before we did the gear install and first gear was a complete dog without the gears. getting the converter matched to the cam is the way to go as well i have an a4 third gen and its a world of difference what the right setup can do.
