It's not that bad....you can either cut a hole above the tank or just drop the rearend.

yeah mine does the same. Goes past the full, then to the 3/4 it goes pretty slow after that it goes pretty fast. But i can let it get to E without running out of gas even though i usually fill it up at about 1/4 tank. Except one time i was at E and i filled the car up and it only let me put in a little over 6 gallons of gas. It wouldn't let me put in more. Then i started the car and it said i only had 3/4 a tank. It was weird. But it hasn't happened since.

I just always make sure I fill up before I get near E. I don't think LS1's are much different, because my buddie's '98 does the same thing...if not worse than my '97.

Mine is off as well as everyone elses. I never let mine get past 1/2, which is more like 3/4 empty. Better safe than sorry.

When I first bought my Z a few years ago the previous owner said that theres still a quarter tank of gas left. I was like cool...
FIrst thing i did was try and calculate my milage based on that quarter tank. I basically **** myself when after driving it only a little bit that day, when the guage just DROPPED down to the E. I, not knowing anything bout cars whatsoever, thought i was in serious gas trouble as this was gona be my main commuter to work. Thank GOD it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be

Turns out my guage is off, way off! It was reading an 1/8 of a tank, not that close to E, and it was empty. I thought I had a bad opti, but guess not. 3 gallons of gas, froma can, now reads a half of a tank... this is a 93, so maybe the problem was way worse back then. So know I know when its at a 1/4 Its time to fill it up!

I only go to about a little more than 1/4 tank which is about 12 gallons on my car, so fuel is in it and I dont burn the fuel pump out.

i have the same reply as most others. when i fill it all the way it goes past Full, but i can run it down to E and run it on E for a little w/ out running out of gas. ive noticed w/ the car off and in neutral / at idle it is the most accurate. ive also noticed these few things: while accelerating the gauge goes up, gauge goes down while braking, gauge goes up while turning left, and gauge goes down while turning right. to b honest w/ u, it dusnt really bother me, if i didnt have a gauge id still hardly ever run out because i know how many miles i usually get out of each tank, i think thats something every1 should know, because what happens if ur gas gauge stops working??? then u wud b f*cked.
