I'm not sure it could stand up to the heat. Also, it probably wouldn't stay adhered to the tranny once the rain/dirt hit it. Changing my tranny fluid helped a little with my noise. It's just one of those things that we live with. At least the T56 tranny's are fairly bullet proof. I don't really notice the noise anymore.

LOL wrapping your tranny... I guess you could line the tranny tunnel with dynamat extreme. I know that stuff will stand up to the heat as you can use it on the firewall too.

well he has the right idea in making are cars less noisey. I put dynamat in my hatch area to cut down the exhaust noise inside the car and that worked

O.k., we don't need the guy to feel like he's an idiot. Take it easy guys.

I assumed that he's talking about the noise we all get when we are at a stop and have released the clutch in neutral. I also get a little gurgly/meshing sound from the tranny, and have since I bought the Z new.

It's one of those things that the T56 tranny's do. To some, they don't notice it; to others, it's annoying.

In any case, I wouldn't wrap anything if it's going to be subjected to rain/dirt/snow/salt...

what sound? oh yea the lil rattle that I used to hear from the throwout bearing back when my car was STOCK and didn't have exhaust so I could actually hear it

Hell, my throwout bearing has gotten louder since I went to the centerforce....I've got a solution better than Dynamat though - 1) exhaust cut-outs or 2) turn the radio up

Maybe I'm just more sensitive to noise. I've heard it on all the T56's I've heard, but only in neutral with the clutch out. It's not very loud.
