Just remove you carpet and put dynamat down inside the car under the carpet and then reinstall it. If you need new car then you need to remove anyway. Try that it always have worked for me.

yea i know its a weird post but.... the reason i ask if anyone has tryed to wrap there trans is i was at a friends shop using his lift and we were actually looking and listening for a small exhaust leak i had with the car running and it was damm near impossible to try and listen for something without that good old t-56 making that beautiful sound it makes, anyway...yea i know that excess heat would not be good for the tranny but since most the noise seems to come from the bell housing area and the t56 is a very long unit i was thinking maybe if you could wrap the bell area and leave the tail exposed that would let out enough heat to cool the tranny, maybe ill spend the 36 bucks for a sheet of brown bread quiet material and take my snap on digital thermo laser gun and do some before temp of the tail area and after temp readings and even do a before and after fluid temp reading, nothing's carved in stone till its actually been proven so....we'll see....
