Anyone have custom cat-back to exit in front of rear wheels?

One of the few things I like about Mustangs is that the Roush's have the exhaust exit in front of the rear wheels. I think this is illegal on our cars because the seating area is still in that area.

Anyways, anybody have this on their car? Anyone with pics?

I will be getting long tubes soon and I'm curious if its possible to have a custom exhaust place make 2 pipes that connect right to the headers, put a resonator on each pipe, and then exit them right infront of the wheels with some nice square tips.

Just an idea. Let me know. Thanks.

Just looked it up, pretty expensive at $430 unshipped. I'm not really looking for a universal kit either. I'm definitely gonna have a custom exhaust place do it themselves.

Just wondering if anyone on here has it and has any pics/advice/sound. Thanks.

theres one guy on here with the exhaust exiting b4 the rear tires....i dunno his name but hopefully u can get ahold of him...he has pics and more.

i think it looks ugly and probably would look better with some custom ground effects but thats my honest opinion

I'm running Hooker LTs with carsound cats and car chemistry insert mufflers (and cutouts), with side exit exhaust. They do exit out the side, so they arent illegal - I've passed inspection the last 3 years like this.

Here's my site - instead of using square tips, I just ovaled my pipes - for the most part it looks fairly subdued, as you'll see in the pics. In my opinion, the side exit (when done right, and tucked close to the body), doesnt look bad at all.

Heres the drivers side before install:

I'll try to post a vid with sound this evening...

Here's the vid I mentioned (10meg) - please right click and save:

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/heads_up...g/carhouse.wmv

Car wasnt up to full operting temp, so she was running a little rich, as seen the first couple of times I pop the throttle. And my backup lights are on a manual switch - sometimes I get lazy - you'll see what I mean. Anyway, sound is decent, and you pretty much hear what the exhaust sounds like. I imagine it would mellow out and kackle a little less if I were running a h or x pipe too... but I aint

Cutouts are closed up in the vid...
