Anyone in here have a LTCC setup?

I just tried to start my bird after wiring everything and for some reason I'm not getting spark. I did not connect the yellow wire since the instructions said it was for the two stage/retard control. I am wondering if this is required to run this setup. However I am getting a green light on the box saying everything is in sync.

The tach/retard wire doesn't have to be connected. I bet it's an issue with ground since you get a green light on the box. What wires are you using?

Re: Anyone in here have a LTCC setup?

I'm using taylor 8mm spiros and I have 2 coils grounded together then tied to the front grounding point on the heads. So, all in all the coils are tied in together on each side. Is this my mistake? Should each coil have a seperate ground? What did you guys ground yours to?

Re: Anyone in here have a LTCC setup?

Personally I ran a ground on every coil, as well as the grounds that come on the harness. I also seperated out the 4 Opti wires away from the high power lines to the coils to prevent any interference with the opti signal. You HAVE to ground that system REALLY REALLY well or you will have issues.

Curious, did changing the grounding fix your issue? I'd really like to check out your setup sometime.

Re: Anyone in here have a LTCC setup?

I have a few of the coils grounded to the same spot so I don't think it makes that much of a difference. Seems like there were only two wires to hook up (a red one and a white one?) and tee in the 4-pin connector with the opti harness. Did you upgrade the ignition fuse to a 20amp? (or whatever it says). Its been a couple of years since I installed mine.

Re: Anyone in here have a LTCC setup?

I upgraded mine. I did run into problems when I used old coils off of ebay. But once I bought all new coils on the car it ran flawless. I had a hesitation before and the install which was finally gone!
