Anyone using Lunati Vodoo camshaft
#2
Guess I'll be the first one. After talking to tech at Lunati, he thinks it will work great with my new setup. Which will still be a 355. Here's the specs, what do you all think?
Lunati's Voodoo series of Hydraulic Roller camshafts deliver more area under the curve than any other series of Hydraulic camshafts. This means more throttle response, quicker acceleration, more vacuum, better efficiency, combined with maximum horsepower and torque!

Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 294/302
Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 243/251
Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .560/.565 w/1.6's .597/.602

Wow I just went at looked at that cam on summit's web site, seems quite pricey for an "off the shelf cam I guess it's worth the price if it performs well though. Anyone know if Lunati cams are a cast core or a billet core? I'd hope billet for that price....
If you end up using it, be sure to post your results. I sure would like to see what kind of #'s it produces

Yeah, I'm pretty sold on it after talking to Lunati. I know the price is crazy on Summit, but there's a ebay store that has it for $289 buy it now. They have other Lunati cams too, but this is the one that caught my attention. I know most people on here are either AI or LE, but I opted for the new AFR's still. I think this cam will work well with the new 1039's LT4's. It will probably be a while before I get the motor buttoned back up, but I'll let you guys know the results.

I haven't seen any results at all from the voodoo cam line-up in an LT1 application, I'm rather curious to see if they out perform some of the "tried and true" shelf cams in the same size range such as the GM847, cc306, XFI292, etc....

I was seriously contemplating the XFI292 for a long time, but I wasn't completely sold on it. So far the best performing car on here with that cam also happens to have a 396. We'll see what happens. Thanks for all your inputs. I was hoping I wasn't going to get bashed for this choice along with AFR heads.

Of course everyones idea of "drivable" is different though.
I will say that mine is quite lopey, but idles fine in traffic with the a/c blasting and doesn't jerk and buck very much at slow speeds.
