anyone who knows about o2 extensions and simms please help

ok i have custom longtubes on my 96 3.8 v6 camaro. i need o2 extensions, the style connector thats on my headers is the flat style not the little box style. will the extensions that are supposed to be for the v8 work on my v6 as long as the connector is the same? or is there something different in the wiring that would mess with my computer and throw a ses light? do you have to use extensions that are the same length or can one be 12" and the other be 24"? will the o2 simm that says for 97+ fbodys work on my 96? please help thanks

Well two different lengths would work, not sure on the conectors though! I say forget buying the O2 extenders and just make your own. Some guys wil argue that its bad to do, but everyone that does it themselves except for real hack jobs have no problems. Either way you are adding on wire so doing it yourself is cheaper and actually fun. I thought it would be hard to do since the wires are so close to the firewall, but it turned out to be real easy. A soldering gun with wire will run you less than 10 bucks, and wire I think about 8 12 inch pieces(cut down from single long piece) will cost maybe 1.50 Also buy some heat shrink sleeves which you place over the wire and heat up and they melt leaving a nice cover over the new weld. Just cut the wires interlace them, and melt the solder into the wire so it flows into the inside portions of the cut part of the wire strands, then solder around the entire area and your done. Anyone can do this, and it will take probably 20 minutes if you take your time. As far as O2 sims, I am not positive, but I think they will work, hopefully another opinion will pop up.
