Anything for the lt1 and ls1 interchangable?

Just curious if the exhaust or anything else can be used on either car?

No, not really. The are completely different platforms. Basically just the injectors, oil and of course gas.

Re: Anything for the lt1 and ls1 interchangable?

As far as the two engines, almost nothing is interchangeable, maybe a few bolts but thats about it. A catback exhaust from an LS1 could work with an LT1 with slight modification to where it meets the y pipe, the rest of the way back it would be the same. There were many small changes that were made to the rest of the car but there were a lot of parts on the cars that are still the same.

An LT1 can benefit substantially from an LS1 CAI induction set-up, I think the only requirement is changing out the hood. I'm considering switching to an LS1 set-up on my Callaway. Take care

I think they use the same lifters and injectors, but I believe that is about it.

I know they dont use the same injectors, ours are 24lb/hr (94-97) and theirs are 28lb/hr, fuel pressure is much higher in the LS1 also. Lifters are different too, you can spin the cam on an LS1 when changing cams and the lifters will stay up long enough for you to reinstall the new cam without even removing the lifters or intake manifold (pretty cool) That wont work on an LT1. Like I said, the engines share almost nothing in common.

While the injectors are not the same flow rating, they are interchangable. Ls1 injectors work on a lt1, and vice versa (although not advised).

Also the lifters may not be the same OEM part number, but they too are also interchangable. The ls1s have a lifter trey which will hold the lifters up when you spin the cam, it has nothing to do with the lifters themselves.

MAFs are interchangable, hmmm. Im sure there are more things, just cant think of them now.

Ok, you guys got me. Come to think of it, they are practically identical, virtually every component is interchangeable. Excuse me now while I go install my new ZO6 head/cam package. Heck, I may even throw in this LS1 crank I picked up and switch it over to 6 bolt mains while I'm at it.

I put LS1 lugnuts on my 93Z-28, and wow what a difference, I shaved .3 off of my 60' dropped .5 off my ET and gained 6mph. I gained about 35hp and 43ft-lb. tq. JK
