stay away from the tailhousing. very weak for heavy auto-x or drag racing.

spohn and bmr have the ticket. you could always go madman if you run sub 10's

which location is better is up to what the driver has intended for the car
a stock mounting tq arm will suffice in 95% of applications, personally i know of 3 cars running or that have ran in the 10's or that are just knocking on the 10 sec door and they all have stock mount location tq arms, one using the stock tq arm itself and has been in the 1.4x 60' zone a couple times

and they dont mount to the crossmember, the Spohn mounts to where the "tunnel brace" mounts or where an aftermarket driveshaft loop mounts and the BMR shortened tq arm uses SFC's and a bar that runs between them and then mounts to that

"jumps on the wagon" i would pick the Spohn also
