I had a NC State Trooper lift the hood on his B4C a few weeks ago. I almost fell over, it had an SLP air box on it!
I tried to order a B4C from 1993-95 and finally gave up. As far as I know a radio was not standard on the early B4C's, but you had to have AC. I ended up buying a 1995 AC-Delete Formula, but couldn't get them to delete the radio.

You could actually get all available options from the Z28 on the B4C, aside from TTops and leather interior. B4C models were available with radios. The 1LE cars were not.

On the order sheets that I saw for 1993-95 B4C's the radio was listed as optional. I also don't remember the 1LE being available with radio delete from1993 up (That doesn't mean that there were none built). AC was not available on 1LE's until 1996, but was standard on B4C's. As I remember, no AC delete option was available for B4C's.
If anyone has seen a car that doesn't follow these guidelines, I would love to hear about it. I have never seen a 1993-up radio delete car (Firebird or Camaro).

A little off subject, but in '96 you couldn't get a 1LE without A/C. GM made the rule starting that year. I would think for production purposes. That would mean every F- body that was built came with A/C. More money for a dying model. Read it in a Chevy mag

Re: B4C Police Interceptor

Having owned an '01 B4C, and soon to be picking up a '98 B4C, you can tell if it's real by the B4C code on the driver's door sticker and the similar sticker in the glovebox.

Being a retired cop, I remember when they were new, and the Michigan State Police tested them and found that they would do 160 mph. Z28s (LS1) were electronically limited to 130, if memory serves.

FYI, "Police Interceptor" is the badge that Ford put on its Crown Vics and other police cars, though I have seen a Camaro with that emblem on it.

Re: B4C Police Interceptor

All LS1 F-bodies that came new with Z rated tires had a 162mph limiter. The only B4C’s that were special compared to a common Z28 were the 92’s. They got 1LE brakes. Fourthgens are basically a base Z28 with a better alternator and no Z28 emblems. I have VINs and RPOs for over 6k fourthgens, including a bunch of B4C’s.
