Back In It After 7 Years...

WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i got bored yesterday and started poking around on ebay for bullsh!t.

long story short within a few hours and a 400 mile round trip, this roller is now sitting in my driveway...

the drivetrain is out of it and completely disassembled.

the T56 is still intact and in working order.

should i keep it, part it out, put something else besides an LT1 in it?

Yep, see how far you can take a completely gutted stock-internal LT1 on the N2O dope with a trans-braked th400. Probably well into the 10s. Be a 'relatively' cheap, very fun car!

Gutted race car/borderline street car (I say boarderline so you keep tail lights etc).

F the taillights!!! Get it down to under 3k raceweight and go for 10s NA with a stroked H/C setup...then hit it with some nitrous for 9s .

Think about the possibilities when streetability is of no concern at all...

I like my 3.23 m29 but maybe it's just me but dropping into 4th at around 6k it just feels sluggy. Most likely because I think that ratio is no different than any of the other t56's and you are hitting it at a lower mph with the m29's first 3 gears. The first 3 gears in my m29 feel about like the first 3 in my 98 t56 w/ 4.10s! That's seriously how much the gearing shows up...

I dont care what you do with it as long as i can have the steering wheel cover.

Well theres really only one thing you do when you buy a roller......and you sort ah did.

Keep your checkbook open.
