Bad day at track!

Re: Bad day at track!
Lets not mince words..your down like 90 hp!!! 200 hp or so third gens run 15.1 at our local track at 1900 feet above sealevel. My non stalled heavy as heck 3800 pound raceweight vert with 3.42 gears and minor mods ran 14.3 at 95 or 96 mph with 2.18 on nittos last year with 3.42 and magnaflow and other small mods..It ran 15 at about 93mph with 2.73s and pretty much bone stock with terrible 60fts think like 2.5.
This season have installed a vig 2800 ,asp underdrive pulley, did a bunch of suspension mods, spohn lower control arms, hotchkis lowering springs, bmr relocation brackets, panhard, spohn torque arm and I tried to see what I could do with the car for 60fts with my tazzo. When I lowered the car it ran like 2.6 60fts with the above mods..also have magnaflow catback,G2 induction and thats about it. No headers..
I noticed with the stall that it was impossible to get decent 60fts on the street tires..3.42 gears and the stall are too much for most street tires although some guys seem to be having good luck with some of the ones out there like fuzions..etc.
I just got nittos again, had them on last year for the 14.3 but sold them off but now getting them again. Long story.
I think you need to get your 60fts back down to 2.0 or better. And I think you do have some power problem..possibly from gms maf.I had one for awhile
but sold it, it seemed to work great on my other lt1 but not sure it helped on my 96z and planning nitrous right quick and hear they might make things harder to tune with the spray so sold it. I also have hpp and maf translator
but keep the hpp tuning out. I use my maft to play with fuel.
I think you might not be running on all eight and might easily have a burnt or loose plug wire. That and traction problems are most likely what is wrong.
Do you get any codes..

Re: Bad day at track!
Thanks for the response. I don't think that i have a burnt plug wire or loose because i would think it would be arching or misfiring. It is not doing that at all! I have all my plug wires wrapped up into some protective coating to prevent that from happening. I will try and remove the hypertech and keep the stock mass airflow on.

I have a buddy whos Ta's performance began to tail off at the track and on the street. I would murder him in my Z28 with similar mods. Turns out this retard's floor mat was crammed under his gas & brake petals from him getting in and out and not pulling it back where it goes...... so check your floor mat

Re: Bad day at track!
Hey guys, I took off the hypertech power tuning and the aftermarket MAF. The car runs much better. I only am using the hypertech for shifts point tuning. I noticed that my MAF had a black residue on the sensor. I wonder if that would be causing my problems as well. Anyone?
