Convertible Auto's were probably the slowest of all LT1's. Do you know if your car has 2.73 or 3.23 gears? Look into a CAI, longtube headers, gears (most would suggest 3.73's) and a stall convertor.

All that rubber won't make it any faster. 14 flat doesn't sound bad for what you have at the moment.

Re: Been a Mustang guy just switched over

Some aftermarket suspension pieces will really wake up the car as well as some subframe connectors to stiffen up the chassis. Spohn and BMR are both big names with that kind of stuff. Also, a mail order PCM tune is a cheap way to go faster.

11's in the front? Woa! That a tad bit wide. Welcome to the board btw..

My favorite was Headers and Mail order tune for my Auto. The crisp throttle and firm shifts are great.
SubFrame Connectors and bigger Front Sway gave me that more control feeling but Shocks I'm dying for. I'll be putting my shocks in hopefully next week and can't wait to feel it.
My Yoko tires regarding my traction has been awesome.

A good bit of nitrous will really wake anything up, LT1's are included

I would go for a cam to make some serious headway in power, after you do the basic free mods and bolt ons...

Re: Been a Mustang guy just switched over

Where can I get this mail order tune? The guy I bought it from said he put a stage 2 chip in the car- not sure where to check to see if there actually is one or not. He put a KN cold air kit on the car too before I bought it, forgot about that. I'm not sure what rear gear the car has- any place on the car to check? And I know the wide tires wont make it any faster- I just like the way the car looks.

Re: Been a Mustang guy just switched over

I would suggest a CAI, 3.73's, and LT headers........ that should drop you into the mid to higher 13's........

Re: Been a Mustang guy just switched over

Stage 2 chip sound like Jet look by the pcm in the passenger rear of the engine compartment, bet there is something plugged in in series with the cars wiring then to the pcm. Get that POS out of there. The pcm on these is very cheap and easy to access so please do not resort to halfassed crap like MAFs AFPR, MAF translators, IAT resistors or anything else that interferes with the pcm info and commands. If the cpm needs to be telling the engine different things than it currently is reprogramming it starts at about $50. www.pcmforless.com and www.madz28.com are both great and very reasonably priced.

I'd personally say **** the boltons. Just go with a cam. Even though a cam works best with bolt ons, the cam alone will be better than the bolt ons combined. Then get the bolt ons. I wish i'd have done this.

Re: Been a Mustang guy just switched over

I'm running 13.2@104-105mph with:

SLP cold air intake
Pacesetter long tubes
Cutout + Hooker Catback (old setup, now have true duals)
3.73 gears
MadZ28.com PCM tune (gaurantees 13rwhp on a stock car - highly recommended)
BMR LCA's and SFC's
Sticky tires
CSI electric water pump

Maybe some other small things but those are my main bolt-ons..
