best cai

This question is asked daily. Literally. Do a search and find all you will ever need. CAIs offer basically the same gain. Best bang for the buck would be a home made CAI. Many people have done it. As for me I dropped $200 on an SLP. I like it, it looks great. Gained almost 3 MPH in the 1/4. Either way a CAI is WAY better than the stock air box.

I too say Homemade is the best bang for the buck.
I've got a huge 4" one that I am using.

Not to sound rude, but this isn't a civic where you're fighting to get .01 more hp with a different intake. They will all give you 7-10hp, its just a matter of getting the stock crappy one out of the way. if you already have one, you will notice NO difference in switching to another one

If you want to go with a "Name Brand" go with Lingenfelters setup. It is identicle to the Moroso setup, but I believe the filter may be a little bit bigger. I bought mine brand new from them for 159 shipped. Also it is plastic so it won't heat soak. Unlike the "Home Made" setup.

I reather spend a few bucks then have some ugle cr@p under my hood. Now doing stuff half a$$ed can cost you to blow WADS of money and your motor. PVC is not for hot applications.

well to each their own BUT when your shelling out a few hundred dollars on a name brand, i'll be using the MONEY i saved and putting it towards something else.
PVC is not for hot applications BUT thin wall PLASTIC is? news to me.
its only ugly if you dont do the job right. as you can see in my sig, i did.

I made mine out of thin wall 4" PVC for the best flow period...looking at mine I don't see any way an aftermarket CAI could flow as well as mine does. Mine cost all of about $60 to make with a used K&N filter. I'll take the other $100 and go buy something else cool thanks

I like my 4" Aluminum one. It's getting sand blasted now and will be polished so it should look pretty good when it's done.
Cost: A rear end that I was trying to give away, but ended up trading for the Air Intake.

Geez you guys with homemade CAI are sure proud . All kidding aside the best bang for your buck CAI would have to be a well made homemade one. Its going to flow around what a K&N, SLP, etc does but it will cost roughly $100 less. If you take your time and make it right this is the way to go. Some of us are just lazy and are willing to spend the extra cash for a brand name CAI that performs well, looks good, and is ready to install .
