LMFAO.

Fred meant to get an OEM replacement. For your application, I'd go with one too. Hope you know what you're getting yourself into with replacing it with the motor still in the car.

I had no issues with the stock pan until I made the mistake of installing a HV pump. I am using a Canton now.

I've seen a "stock" oil system - blueprinted stock oil pump with 80# spring, windage tray and pan - support 1,125HP on a blown 383 LT1. He was happy he had a stock pan, because he dropped it hard a few time from 3-ft wheelstands.... and a stock replacement was a lot cheaper than anything else.

The pan that is on your car is the same pan you'd be getting from GMPD, stamped from the same die. It will last as long as yours has.

I have the 242T on my 383 and it doesn't leak whatsoever.

both of those will need to be modified if u are using lt headers, thats if u want to use the oil level sensor.

if you have a high volume pump and rev over 5500 rpms i would say it would be safer to go with a larger pan.
the 50 buck pan is probly thinner cheap metal from china. use at own risk. i would go with oem or brand name that is at least oem equivalent. that me though. lol
