Right before the cat.

Why put it before the cat if he's getting a high flow? I'd rather have it back further instead of increased volume, more exhaust fumes, etc.

I had mine under the REAR passenger floor mat for 7 months, I think I might get another one soon since I sold it a few months ago.

Why? High flow or not its a restrictive item. The whole point of the cut out is to get rid of all the exhaust restrictions. Before the cat is the best place to shove the thing.

With my MAC headers, I was able to use an Off-Road pipe where the cat usually goes. I put my cut-out in the ORP. My ORP pipe is flanged on each end, and I have a catyletic converter with identical flanges...So, I can swap them in a matter of minutes. with the cat on the car, it's completely emissions legal...right down to the EGR, and A.I.R. tubes on the headers.

With this set up, I run 12.2 with the cut-out closed and 12.0 with it open...

So you say sort of right after the cat?? If I put it before the cat wont there be no back pressure? Just askin.

As long as it's before the muffler, since the crossflow design alone will cost you a couple HP, you'll be ok.

Theres enough back pressure from the Y-pipe. Its not like it all disappears.

mine is right before the bend in the pipe going over the axle, about 14 inches from the axle. Putting it up too far will bring exhaust fumes into the interior and you will soon want to cap it off. Put it back farther and you will be happy. You will still gain power and it will still be quite loud, I even have the stock cat on mine and notice a difference.

*Shrug* I can see where you guys are coming from, but to each his own. I'd find it better right before the cat, I mean it would only come off at the track for me, exhaust fumes won't be a problem for that trip down the 1/4.

Assuming he's not getting long tubes, with any other headers/y-pipe combo, there wouldn't be enough room to put a cutout before the cat without pushing the cat back further which is illegal.
