Here`s my engine when I had some B&B Fabrication covers on it w/ a Vortech polished elbow. Those covers are the same as what Lingenfelter used to sell in their catalog. I didn`t really care for the quality of them, especially after I got my Proforms. I miss the bling, but not the upkeep

Do a search on my name and you'll come up with a thread on the install of these valve covers. Im still making a bracket to clear them. =\

has anybody with the proform valve covers had any issues with the way it lines up with the oil fill openings vs. the stock covers?

I want those proform black ones, but with perimeter bolts instead. Any pros /cons of perimeter bolt? I am thinking that my Z has a tiny bit of seepage out of the drivers side rear of the valve cover. I would assume that perimeter grips the outside better, where it counts.

You would need different heads for the perimeter bolts. The LT1 uses the late Gen 1 centerbolt style. Unless you convert to older SBC perimeter bolt heads, your SOL.

I'm using a low mount alt. bracket with the new motor, but I had these same covers on the previous engine. I had to "clearance" the back of the alternator just a little, but it wasn't a big deal.

I can use perimeter or center bolt with my AFR heads.

Eric,
I'm assuming you have to ditch the PCV system with the canton covers?

No, why would you say that?? If you are talking about the hose from the TB to the passenger side valve cover, that can stay. The PCV stuff remains intact as far as I know.

Here is a pic of mine. They were the ProForms with the black crinkle finish. They are now painted to match the intake and Vortech elbow.
