BIG PROBLEM.... gass in oil and no start.. and no concert

I pulled the intake on a simple gasket replacement project on my 94 LT1....... drained the coolant.... moved the exhaust pipe to get to the drain plug... while the intake was off i noticed some gass in my lifter vally and my number 1 and 3 ports on the head were full of gass. So i put it all back together after soaking up the gass. Now the car will not start back up. i even tryed a new coil because there is no spark... this did not fix the problem... i checked for loose plugs.. i found 2 and pluged them back in...one was the O2 sensor on the driver side and one was on the throtle possition sensor. STILL!!! NO START..... ok so i checked the oil.... funny it had more than a few extra quarts in it...so i decided to drain it..... the oil was the consistancy of water and smelled like gass.. and there was a whole lot of it....i put new oil in the car and NO START...this simple project has cost me over a week... and now i have to go to the airport in the morning and i have no way to get there... and if any of you care i missed the ALmand Brothers concert because of this

Bad rotor then?? The opti or optispark is the distributor on the LT1. It is located on the front of the motor. The water pump sort of wraps around it so it's hard to see from the top. Here is a picture of mine in the link below. This was taken after I removed the water pump. That tan/brown thing is the distributor cap. You can also the the opti harness. Just for giggles I would measure the resistance of all your wires including the one that goes from the coil to the opti.

sometimes the harness is lose inside, try and wiggle it a bit. ive had a few friends that had this exact same problem, turned out to be the harness both times.

fuses, opti harness, or missed wire somewhere. Something simple thats gonna make you smack yourself when you find it.

BTW: you probably have leaky injectors if the whole port was full of gas Theres only a few ways for that to happen and thats the most likely cause.

clean them, and if that doesn't work, buy new ones....

Next question: How do I clean them? (I must be psychic )

you can hook each one up individually to a car battery (straight hookup) and clean it with a toothbrush and some carb cleaner. Or you can search around for a garage that does professional injector cleaning. They actually take them off and hook them up to a special machine that flushes them in both directions. Good Luck
