Bogging/misfireing off the line..

kinda bummed out...

my dad owned the 94 trans am (v8, auto, all stock, 170k) and it started doing this about a month ago...

he took it to 2 shops (1 specializes in lt-1 and lt1 conversions) and both concluded the Opti was on its way out... and replacing it was in the range of 800-1000 bux from both shops..... so he gave it to me to do what i wanted with while he got a new car...

so i bought an AC delco Optispark and installed it... and all seemed great for about 2 weeks now.... but now its starting to do it again.. its hesitating bad under strong accleration..

now what should i try next? i checked all the intake hoses and made sure it was all good, i even put my straight pipe back on insted of the cat (thinking maybe the cat was broken/clogged)...

any ideas?

appreciate any help i can get, im stumped..

Id put my money on spark plugs or wires. And just because they are kinda new doesnt mean anything. You can burn a brand new wire in 2 seconds and then its useless.

The best thing would to get a lab scope on your car so you can look at spark duration, voltages, and snap kvs for all the cylinders. You can also tell which cylinders are missing on a lab scope.
I would also ohm your wires, write down what each wire ohmed at, you want all of them to be relatively the same but remember the longer the wire the more resistance.
Also take a couple of spark plugs out and look at them.
