i wouldnt worry about where your power is made, all that i would care about is that you are a hair above average with those numbers...especially with an a4

I watched a stock A4 dyno here in Albuquerque recently. 190 actual RWHP, 240 corrected. LOL

no what im tring to get at is..that he only strated to floor the car from 3750 rpms..wouldve i made more trq. if it was a little lower,,and one run said 301 lbs tq. but i couldnt find were the hell it came from on the graph...when i did my calculations that 243 rwhp = 291 fly wheel horsepower and 285 tq= 342 lbstq.. i used the method of times it buy 1.2 i got it out of a magazine...

No, TQ is pretty flat from about 2300 RPM up to over 4000 RPM, so your TQ numbers are about the best you would see. What RPM was the peak TQ at?

The 301 rwtq number that you saw is probably just an abnormal spike somewhere. (converter flashing or something)

Re: bone stock dyno..95trans am a4..opinions?

Yes, your engine makes that much torque as low as 2,000 rpm. The main reason they don't lay into it earlier with A4's is to try and stay in ONE gear without shifting. Shifting on the dyno will only show a spike in the graph.

I have seen 300 ft. lbs. of torque at as low as 1,800 rpm on the dyno. But I have a 6 speed so I can stay in one gear and it's not a problem to start earlier in the rpm range.

Re: bone stock dyno..95trans am a4..opinions?

I dyno'd our bone stock A4 '95 TA that my wife drives and it dyno'd at 236 rwhp/296TQ. Only thing on it is a K&N and pcv vert tube replaced with a breather. As mentioned earlier, with an A4 you can't nail it at low rpms because it will down shift to 2nd, dyno#s are taken in 3rd gear where its a 1:1 ratio.
There are several different ways dyno software computes your #s, SAE corrected, actual, and it can also "smooth" them so you don't see the jumpy lines in the graph. SAE numbers will give you slightly higher numbers than "actual", so that can explain why its slightly higher. I always prefer actual non-corrected numbers.

Re: bone stock dyno..95trans am a4..opinions?

go back and ask them if the power numbers are 'actual' or 'corrected'

I may have missed this somewhere but what is the differance between actual and corrected dyno numbers??

Actual is what it actually put down. Corrected numbers, also known as SAE numbers, are putting a correction factor on your numbers based on the weather, humidity, temp, etc, so you can roughly compare two SAE numbers to each other fairly safely even if you put down different actual numbers in two different types of weather.
