borla problems

i had my borla put on about three months or so ago, and as soon as i drove home it started to make a bad grinding noise. this noise only happens when im starting it up and am at idle and occasionaly when i just barly start to go(not getting on it). I called the place i got it done at and he said to bring it in and he'll fix it. well a week later is the day i was going to bring it in but the noise didnt occur as often so i let it slide. anyway this noise still happens now, its not too bad i just would like it fixed. does anyone know what this problem is? should i just take back to the place where i had it done and do you think the person who put it on will stiff fix it for free after so long? thanks guys

p.s. the noise sounds like its hitting the drive train as its turning but i looked under neath and doesnt seem to be any interferance.

Yes!

I know this problem it is the overaxel bend is banging on the rear
axel or right there.

I had this problem where it would not do it and then it would just when I started up the car for about 20seconds.

Have the exhaust shop check the rearend.

Hope this helps

Dustin

if the place that installed it is willing to fix it, let them. I put mine on myself and had to adjust it a few times before it was perfect.

It is not hurting anything but it sounds real bad.

Just take it back where you had it done and have them adjust it and you will be ready to go

I put mine on myself, and wracked my brain trying to get it to fit right...but it didn't help. It seems that the hangar on the pass. side is too far to the side, and it causes the bend to rub over the axle. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you correct it?

I have the same problem, mine rubs the far side of the axle (near the spring) and bumps the DS on HARD braking. A friend and I fixed it last summer but I think that is shifted out of position and is bumping the DS again just not as bad. I love the sound and looks of my borla but it just doesn't fit worth ****!

My advice is see if the shop will fix it, if not get a friend to help wrestle it into place and bolt it down TIGHT.

i had the same problem for months, it drove me CRAZY!!! i removed the bolt from the pass hanger and took a small piece of carpet padding and put it between the axle and pipe, the tightened the hanger so the pipe is flush with the carpet padding and axle and now it purrs like a kitten. i also put a piece between the muffler and heat shield just in case that ever started to rattle. hope this helps!!
