brakes from 94 vette

There's a guy in town who smacked his 94 vette up and is now parting some items. He has aftermarket calipers and rotors. I want to purchase them since they are much better than the stock set up. What do I need from him in order to do a complete swap? I was thinking just the rotors, calipers, pads, and mounting brackets.. anything else?

If you are getting a really good deal I would say buy them. Worse thing that can happen is that they don't work, in which case throw them on Ebay and break even or come out ahead.

This is the same as the Baer track kit, you will need to buy brackets to make the setup work.

Also, if you have 16" Z28 wheels the 13" rotor will not fit, however I am told they fit under 16" Vette wheels, but 17" should be just about an absolute (it isn't always unless its OEM). You should be able to grab the printout from the Baer site which you can use to see if it fits under the wheel, or take your wheel and put it on the C4 and see what happens.

If Baer will sell you the brackets and bolts you should be able to use those parts with 17" wheels. The stock brake lines may or may not be long enough. The Baer kit comes with new ones.

i have 18" rims so clearance won't be a problem but if I grab the aftermarket brackets off the vette, would'nt they work for my car?.... as for the brake lines, can i take the ones from the vette or will I have to buy new ones from someone like baer....

If there are even brackets on the Corvette they are not likely to fit the F body. If they did, it would be a common swap for us. On F bodies the caliper bolts directly to the knuckle and I'm guessing Corvettes are the same way so you will need an aftermarket bracket. I don't know about the brake lines.

These brakes are OEM, the Baer kit for the FBodies is aftermarket, so the bracket is not the same. You could take a look, take the wheels off both cars and see whats doin, I dont know what thier front suspension looks like.

You'd probably find more help in the AutoX/RR section, those are the folks that care about brakes.

The rotors are 14" and the caliper are brembo.....So I'm pretty sure the whole brake set up is not OEM

14" rotors, thats definately not stock, you wont find anything larger than 13.1" on most any car. I'd say those need some 18s as a guess, might be worth it to get some custom brackets for them.
