i would think that if the old starter always turned over, even if it took an extended crank. And after the install of the new starter you run into a click for 10-15 key turns? i would think your correct with the bad solinoid. if it was a loose connection then i would think that while your cranking sometimes it would kick in and stop randomly. i had the same issue with my z28 for a year. my wife would drive it to work then it would not start or make any noise at all but would have full power, she would get a jump start and nothing but with enough key turns it would find a good spot in the windings and fire right up. i did not beleave her since i never had an issue. but it did it to me one day. i tested everything and had full power at the purple wire on the starter but no crank. i think the best way to test the starter is while its on the car, hook the DVM to the ground and then test the HOT wire, then test the PURPLE ignition wire. Have a friend or someone Crank while the car is haveing the issue and see if you have full voltage at the solinoid. if you do then the starter is no good. Best wishes for yu and keep us posted with the results or the fix

Mine has been happening ever since I have owned the car. I have put on I think 3 new starters and it is still the same issue.

Yeah man, as these other people are saying, I think it might actually be liked to the wiring. Either way, I am going to have to get in there and do some dirty work, but I DO know I hooked them up right.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was with your clicking issue?

Thanks
