Burned wire stuck throttle

Burned wire stuck throttle
I have been having problems with my throttle sticking when wide open and pegging off the rev limiter. I was remembering that when I installed the longtubes last spring a wire got burned on the driver side so I hid it behind the heat shield on the fenderwell. I think the shop said it was the accelerator wire. Is this true and would it cause the throttle to stick. I cant find to pictures of a engine to show it.

Re: Burned wire stuck throttle
follow the cab;e from the throtte body and see if it is indeed the acell cable. if it was burt then replace it. It's not worth crashing you car over. any kink, break, or damadge to the cable can cause it to catch

Re: Burned wire stuck throttle
The actuator cable for the cruise control runs behind the heat shield on the drivers side inner fender. Try unhooking it from the throttle body quadrent and see if the problem goes away.
