burning out a lot of starters!!!!
My car starts good cold but after driving around town for 20 -30 mins the starter will not turn over engine like its hot i have a 6 speed so it push starts no problem, i have headers is the heat from those doing saomthing screwy to starter this is 2nd in 4 months and does any one use those mini starters? are they good and are they worth the money for the space they save when installing them?

Heat increases electrical resistance. So if your electrical connections are not real good you may be able to start when the engine is cold but the connections get increased resistance when warm and create problems. I'd first check for good clean and tight connections to the solenoid. That won't cost you any money. If that doesn't work consider a heat shield around the solenoid. Furd unlike GM decided a long time ago to put their starter solenoid away from the high heat area around the starter motor.
You may also have bad starters as mentioned above. If you are buying remans some are good and some are junk. Get the GMPP lightweight starter. I bought a GMPP version for my BBC engine and I love it.
