Busted spring what can it hurt?!?
ok guys heres the low down on my car. i took it to the shop and i have a busted spring, driver side closest to the firewall. well anyway...my mechanic told me that the valve it closed. adn it could have bent the valve is this true? will i need to replace the rocker arm? also if i do need to replace the valve will the head have to come off? but if its not what all will i need to replace? will i need a new rocker arm, valve, spring? thanks for the help

If the valve is closed that's probably a good thing. It's less likely to have contacted the piston if there's still enough force to hold it closed.
Of course it's nearly impossible to say without some pictures of the damage what needs replaced and what doesn't.
Fortunately for you all of it's on the easy side to replace if the lifter is fine and all you need to do is replace the springs.
It's possible that you bent a pushrod too. The rocker is most likely OK if there's no visible damage.
You can keep the heads on the car. You'll need a tool like this.

You have to get that piston at the top of it's rotation though so the valve doesn't drop down into the cylinder.
Now the real question is why did it break! Go ahead and replace that one but you better take it easy until you can afford all the rest because if one was weak enough to break they all are and you may not be so lucky.
