Cam install question
I am going to be getting a CC305 cam and I need to know what else is needed for the install. I am getting the Pro Mag 1.6 as well. Do I need springs, lifters, etc? What all should I get for a complete install? Thanks!

I need to pass emisions. I also drive it everyday. Why? You have any good suggestions for me? I need to pass emissions and I am getting Hooker LTs. So I dont have much room to work with. Thanks for the input though.

Depending on how many miles on the car (some say if over 50k, some have reused without problems at 100k), you may need new lifters. I got the Crane OEM's from Summit when I did mine. They're about $170 or so. Someone else mentioned on here the other day that they sell Melling OEM's at Autozone for around $140 though. Comp R's are back too.. something to consider.
Are the Pro Mags self aligning? If not, you'll want some guide plates and some hardened/chromemoly push rods. Even if you get self aligning, some hardened Comp push rods are only $35 or $40 bucks. I'd toss some in.
Springs? YES. You absolutely will need new springs. I'd check with either Thunder Racing for those Isky's or Combo Motorsports for theirs. I'd get them on the horn, not email. Tell them what you're doing and that you'll need everything related for the swap.
For gaskets, you should be able to get all Felpro from Autozone. There's a kit for the timing set for around $15 that has the timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, opti seals, etc. Don't forget new intake gaskets as well.
You'll need some coolant, rtv, thread seal, 10 quarts of oil, 2 filters, etc as well.
This is a pretty good cam install guide, should help you out.
