Angry to cam or not to cam

yeah what sould i expect from a hot cam kit hp wise..is it worth the money or is there something better i could spend it on......i'm planning on rebuilding the engine soon and i was wanting to throw a cam in it in the process......i don't want to make enough hp to blow the 7.5 out the back but i'm on street tires so i think i'd be fine with just the cam....i'm also thinking light weight rods and pistons to help the thing wrap up.......so any advise on the situation.....i've got basic bolt ons.....so its pretty much internal time

Yes on the Hot Cam I also did the 1.6 rr, clutch, lt headers and it is a great improvement! Had a GT Mustang try to mess with me last nite.......Even he had to catch up with me to tell me what a nice car I had

It is not so much the HP that kills the rear end, but it is the traction. You should be fine on the street with the hotcam, just don't attempt 5000rpm launches on the drag strip with slicks on the back. Good luck.

If you do opt for the hotcam, i'd get some decent headers (longtubes if you don't have to worry about emissions) they compliment a cam very well.

If you got the intake and exhaust taken care of, I'd say why not. After a while, bolt-on mods got boring for me.
