which cam setup

I plan on doing a cam and roller rockers swap this winter while the car is down. I originally thought the hotcam at first but think comp cams cc306 will produce more power. The question is will stock heads and bottom end with 81000 on it handle the new addition + will the stock heads choke the cam down too much. not an everyday driver but still want it halfway streetable

HOTCAM
CC 1.6 PRO MAGNUM RR

OR

CC306
CC 1.6 PRO MAGNUM RR

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT!

You will make more power with the CC306 and plenty of people still use that grind with stock heads and bottom end. Of course, if you ever decide to do the heads in the future that will become even more beneficial in terms of gains.

Those two cams are extremely different. What are your goals for the car? I'd say that cam is too big for stock heads, but others will disagree. With an otherwise stock motor, I'd say get the CC503.

Injector size has to do with your flywheel hp output. If you have a huge cam, but still don't make enough power, the injectors don't need to be changed. A good guesstimate is:

FWHP x .07 = #/hr (i.e. for 500 fwhp, you'll need at least a 35#/hr injector.)

LT1 uses 43.5 psi for the fuel line, so make sure the injectors you're looking at are rated for that.

Here's the cc503:

cc306 if you are going between the hot cam and the 306. but i would go with a custom grind. You will find some people on the board who have cams from people like Llyod E., Bauer (i think thats how it is spelled), even CC will grind ya one.

I don't know how everyone comes down to these two cams. Is it just because they're the most popular? Those cams are radically different and you should research both a lot more before you decide. There are pros and cons of each. I'd say get the cc503 with stock heads which is why I posted the link.
