Cam surge?

Well I was looking at getting a cam for what i thought was my stock motor but after reading up on the different cams and cam surge I found that my car has symptomes of a cam surge. In any gear below 2200rpm's it will buck and have choppy idle then it hits about 2200rpm's and puts you back in the seat all the way to read line. So what do you guys think? Cam surge or not?

Re: Cam surge?

What U are discribing does in fact sound like cam surge. But there could also be a majority of reasons as to why your car bucks at certian RPMs. The only real way to tell if u have a cam or not is to either go to a dyno and see what it puts down or pull the cam out and have it inspected.
