Cam Swap completed, motor won't run!!!!
I just finished my cam swap, I went from 218/224 to 230/236. I took my time, I know the crank sproket and timing dots are lined up, opti is correct. The problem is that it won't rev over 1000rpm. I took the valve covers off and loosened the rockers a little, thinking they were to tight, but still no luck. I haven't had the computer tuned for this cam, but I thought it would run. Help I don't know what else to do. The car doesn't even throw a code.

1000rpm's is all its got a wot. I have to hold the pedal down to keep it running. I just checked the plugs, they don't look to bad. What would it run like if it was 180 out? I know the dots were lined up.

The dots are lined up? As I recall, when I did the Hot Cam install, with #1 @ TDC, compression stroke, the dots should be at 12 o'clock (both of them) and the cam pin was at 9 o'clock. I think that when the dots are lined up (i.e., cam sprocket @ 6 o'clock and the c/s sprocket @ 12 o'clock) #6 cylinder is at TDC, compression stroke, not #1 cylinder.

Would it act his way if the timing was off a tooth, I mean the car WON'T rev past 1000-1100. Has great oil pressure. Fuel at 42psi. What else?? I have around 14 hours work total in this, I don't want to have to take it back apart for something simple. Its too damn HOT for this!

No, not the plug wires, lol, I checked them about 3 times. I didn't have the opti lined up in the splines. I took it apart, thinking the timing chain jumped a tooth, when I got to the timing cover I coudn.t get the spline out of the timing gear. Yeah I know what a dumbass. I got it running around 1:30 and by the way it sounds, it was worth the trouble
