Which cam would you run out of these 3?

Im jumping in on the GP going on right now and trying to decide on a cam for my car. Its my daily driver and i spray a 150 shot, though not that often.
I would prefer to not have to spin my motor to 6700rpms as well Im really considering the TN-227XR but the TN-233XL looks really tempting

CC-TN-227XR Comp Cams TN227XR Camshaft 227/233 duration @ .050", .560"/.569" lift with 1.6 rockers, 111lsa. Huge top end pull N/A cam, 3000+ stall converter recommended for auto cars. THE cam for street/strip cars looking for maximum power without sacrificing too much driveability. $247.97
CC-TN-230XL Comp Cams TN230XL Camshaft 230/236 duration @ .050", .544/.555" lift with 1.6 rockers, 112lsa. Larger camshaft with lopey idle, excellent top end. 3000+ stall recommended for auto cars. Computer tuning required. $247.97
CC-TN-233XL Comp Cams TN233XL Camshaft 233/239 duration @ .050", .569"/.577" lift with 1.6 rockers, 112lsa. Maximum effort horsepower cam for stock displacement engines, incredible mid range/top end. RPM range 3500-6700

Why not a CC305 on a 114* LSA? Great driveability and responds well to nitrous.

Personally I would go with the highest lift version of the 230/236, run it on a 110lsa and 1.5 rockers. It will take a good spring, and probably Comp Rs, but it should make a ton of power on a stock headed car.

Ive always though about the 230/236 with a 110lsa, but how would that 110lsa take nitrous?
And would Combination Motorsports make that cam for me? Or do they already have it?

Sounds good.

I personally wouldn't do a Blown/Nitrous car on a 110 LSA. Too much valve overlap.

The nitrous wont hurt on the 111lsa 227/233, it just wont be as effective correct?

Not near enough info to advise you. The details of your setup and how you plan to use the car, what is important to you, etc.

Got the 233xl in mine. If your not ready to turn it to 6800rpm, then go with adifferent one. It makes power all the way to 7 with my ported heads, I need to get my rev limiter turned up, because power is a lot higher then I thought it would be, but its a great cam if you dont mind the RPMs

I wouldnt mind the rpms later on, when i have my bottom end built. But that side of the project is coming along slowly. So by then im sure i could buy a cam that spins that high. I had no idea it made power till 7k, do we even have fuel programming for that kinda rpm?

I said 110 lsa for valve timing, and he also stated that he sprays rarely. If you want to give up a little power most of the time to gain a little power a small amount of time, then yea, go with a nitrous cam. But I personally would rather have more power there for a greater amount of time than the inverse.

Sorry Rich, i dont mind a mean idle. Gas mileage, eh its not that big of a deal. I want my power in a useable rpm below 6500rpms. The dyno #'s it makes arent as important as the track times it produces.
Id like to see low/mid 12's with the cam and my current mods(every bolt-on known to man, true duals, 3.73's)

Im really leaning towards the 227/233 for now, i can always go bigger later

Re: Which cam would you run out of these 3?

They are pretty similar cams. All have a narrow split between the exhaust and intake durations, even for NA cams. To wrok well you had better have good flowing exhaust ports and a low restriction exhaust system. With nitorus, the small duration exhaust lobes will be even more of an issue. You want an early EVO event with nitrous. You can do this by increasing the LSA, increasing exhaust duration, or a little of both. I am not too keen on any of these cams for the reasons stated.

IF you have a great exhaust system and aren't too concerned about nitrous operation, I like them in the following order:

CC-TN-227XR
CC-TN-233XL
CC-TN-230XL

I run LTs through 3" true duals, the heads will be fully ported stock heads. But i am concerned about the nitrous, i dont want to have any problems when i spray.
