Can custom cam make 450+rwhp w.AFR heads
i have 195cc AFR heads w/ comp port that flowed right on target with AFRs website. right now i have a XE 236242 shelf cam and want to look into custom grind cams after ready treys post about choosing a cam.. im learning the lingo but im still lost on what will work for me. i really love the 236 242 cam in my mostly daily driver car.. but i think i can handle more power if i can retain drivability... i really want to make close to 500rwhp (made 410 with XE cam). if jordan did it i wanna do it!! anyone with some ideas shoot um out.

You are gonna need high compression and a solid roller to make 500rwhp with daily driver drivability, IMHO. Not knowing your CR, it's a bit difficult to make hard and fast recommendations. But if you must use a HR, you are gonna need a big one. Maybe the XE lobes #3317/3319 which give 294/306 adv, duration and 242/254 @ 0.050". Lift is 0.576/.619" (1.6). 110LSA with 4 degrees of advance ground in.
I don't know of anyone running this, just off the top of my head. It won't have much power until 3,00-4,000rpm.

yeah i do have high compresion.. ii believe its 11:1, flat top pistons and the smallest cc 195 afr head.. but if i go solid how often do i have to adjust the valvetrain. how bad will a that big of a cam hurt drivability. 12k miles a month

You need to go get yourself a hundai or something as a daily driver, Hell go get yourself a $700 *** crap, those type of miles are murder on that stroker, Way too much money in that motor to drive it daily if it was me. No offense JMO!
Take care...

Most people I know with a street solid roller do an adjustment after a couple of hundred miles and once or twice a year afterwards depending on how much they drive and how hard they push the motor.
