Can a distributor be use on an Lt1?

Can a distributor be use on an Lt1?

If going to a carb. style manifold and actually making the car carbeurated can you use a distributor on an LT1 or is the hole not there in the block? and if it's not there could I have it machined into the block?

yes it can accept a standard distributor. I've done the carbed conversion before and it worked. pretty easy, makes the engine compartment alot more good looking.

Ive seen pictures of this before. it was on a board member's car. so i know it'll fit.

Everything internally is the same. The LT1 uses a bolt in idler gear to turn the oil pump. Remove that and insert the dist.
