95 lt1 z28 camaro wont start all the time sometimes it starts and shuts rite back down other times when you turn the key nothing happens at all no cranking or turning over at all.when i by pass the ignation and use a starter trigger giving my starter direct power it starts up first try but runs for roughly 3 to 5 seconds and shuts back down it appears even trying to give it gas doesnt change anything.the fuel pump isa priming when you turn the key forward but once started you no longer here the pump or have pressure so the car burns the little fuel off from the pump priming.
does this sound like ignition switch or fuel pump????tell me what you think this is all help is appreciated.

 

Is the security light blinking, or on steady? Have you scanned it for codes? There is an Opti code that will shut down the fuel system. Have you checked the fuel pressure?

The absence of the starter even cranking the engine at times would appear to indicate a possible problem with the ignition switch. But that can also be corroded battery terminals, corroded wires, loose wires, etc.

 

no security light at all it comes on for 3 second as the rest of the dash does and then goes out as normal.cleaned all conections in between starter and battery but it sometimes starts with the key but always starts with the starter trigger and yes scanned for codes but none found except transmision codes.(because i have a 700r4)
